Venue Overview

Sphere is an immersive entertainment venue just east of the Las Vegas Strip. It opened in 2023 and was designed around a massive interior display rather than a conventional arena scoreboard or backdrop.

The building’s exterior is covered by the Exosphere, a programmable LED surface measuring about 580,000 square feet. Inside, a 160,000-square-foot LED display wraps up, over and around the audience. Sphere says the display uses a 16K-by-16K resolution format.

The interior is equally distinctive. The steep seating bowl surrounds the performance floor and puts much of the audience inside the visual field of the screen. Sphere also uses its own immersive sound system, with 167,000 programmable speakers capable of directing sound to specific areas of the venue.

Concert Experience

A concert at Sphere feels different from a conventional arena show because the building itself becomes part of the production.

• Visuals: The interior screen extends around and above the audience, allowing artists and production teams to use the entire field of view rather than a single rectangular screen.
• Sound: Sphere Immersive Sound uses programmable speakers and precise sound control to direct audio around the venue.

Sphere Seating & Seat Selection

Sphere’s seating is arranged in four main levels around the floor. The exact configuration can change depending on the event.

Floor

The floor may be configured for general admission or reserved seating. Floor locations are useful for fans who want to be close to the performer, but they are not necessarily the best choice for taking in the entire screen.

100-Level

The 100th floor is closest to the floor. It provides strong proximity to the stage, but some higher rows can sit beneath the overhang from the level above, limiting part of the upper-screen view. This makes row selection particularly important.

200-Level

The 200-level provides a higher viewing angle while keeping the stage relatively close. Center sections such as 205–207 are commonly recommended for a balanced view of the performer and screen.

300-Level

The 300-level sits higher and farther back, making the screen feel more encompassing. Sections around 305–307 provide a centered perspective and are often referred to as the Director’s View or Director’s Seats.

400-Level

The 400-level is the highest seating area. It provides a broad view of the screen and stage but places the performer farther away. The steeper seating angle is also worth considering if you are uncomfortable with heights or steep stairs.

Sphere’s official science information lists 17,385 seats inside the Bowl. Events using standing areas or other configurations can accommodate more people, with overall capacity reaching approximately 20,000.

• Bags: Sphere is a no-bag facility. Small clutches, purses and fanny packs up to approximately 6 × 6 × 2 inches are permitted, along with certain medical and diaper bags.
• Tickets: Sphere uses mobile tickets. Downloading the ticket to your phone before arrival is recommended.
• Payments: Sphere is cashless and accepts credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments. Reverse ATMs are available for guests who need to convert cash.
• Cameras: Professional cameras, telephoto or zoom lenses, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks and recording equipment are prohibited.
• Food and drinks: Outside food and beverages are not permitted. Empty, clear soft-plastic water bottles are allowed, and refill stations are available.
• Re-entry: Exiting the building is final; guests cannot leave and re-enter.

Best Time to Arrive

Plan to arrive 45 to 60 minutes before the scheduled start time for a typical concert. This gives you time to clear security, find your section, use the restrooms, and settle in.

Arrive earlier if you need accessibility assistance, have mobility equipment, or are unfamiliar with the venue. Sphere specifically recommends allowing enough time for security and notes that traffic restrictions can affect arrival times.
