Reading the Concert Layout
For an outfield-stage concert, compare the Field and Excelsior areas facing the stage with front field sections. Promenade seating trades performer distance for an elevated ballpark-wide perspective; row and angle matter alongside the level name.
Concert field tickets and Field Level bowl tickets are different products. Read the section label carefully before assuming both place you on the grass.

Permanent Baseball Seating and the Concert Field
The distinction between Field Level and concert field matters at Citi Field. The former identifies part of the permanent baseball bowl; the latter describes temporary concert inventory on the playing surface. For an outfield-stage show, compare the angle from the infield with the actual field block. A baseball location near home plate can be centered while still leaving a substantial distance to the performer.
What the Labels on Your Ticket Mean
| Map category | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Permanent bowl | Field Level; Club and suite areas. These are location labels within the building, separate from temporary floor blocks. |
| Temporary concert area | Concert field. Check the individual block, row and ticket category rather than inferring access from a nearby bowl section. |
| Other inventory | Excelsior and middle seating; Promenade seating; Club and suite areas. Availability and benefits depend on the concert listing. |
Read the section, row and seat as a complete location. A row marked “A” in a temporary floor block is not the same location as row A in the Field Level. Do not assume seat numbers run in a particular direction: use the seller’s expanded map or ask the box office where the numbered end sits relative to the stage.
Access and Ticket Categories
For Citi Field, separate a seat location from an access benefit. Admission to the concert floor or field, a bowl seat and a hospitality product can appear in the same sale without granting the same entry. Check whether the ticket is reserved seating or general admission, and whether any advertised club access applies to this concert. Accessible inventory should be selected through the event’s accessible-ticket options; ask the venue about companion seating and the step-free route for the specific location. If buying several tickets together, verify that their actual seat locations are adjacent; matching section and row labels alone do not establish a continuous group of seats.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Citi Field have concert floor seating?
The event listing determines whether the floor or field is available and whether it is standing, reserved or a mixture. Permanent bowl tickets do not automatically include access to that separate concert area.
Why can the event map differ from the venue diagram?
A general diagram identifies permanent locations. The concert’s own sale map also shows its stage, temporary seating, available sections and restricted-view disclosures. Use that event map to choose the actual ticket.
Where can I check the official layout?
Open the venue’s official event information and choose the concert you are attending. If this page shows a general venue map, continue to the individual event’s ticketing map.
Does a lower-bowl ticket include the concert floor?
A ticket for the Field Level identifies that permanent seating area. Floor or field access is a separate ticket condition; do not enter through a floor-only gate unless your ticket or venue instructions authorize it.
How do I find accessible seating on the map?
Use the event seller’s accessible-seat filter and read the location description. If the required ticket is not visible, contact the venue or its designated ticket seller about available arrangements and companion seating.
Will every permanent seating area be open?
Not necessarily. The Club and suite areas and other inventory may be absent from a particular concert sale. The stage footprint, production and organizer’s configuration determine which locations are offered.
